About us

Cheesemongers,
not a supermarket.

Behind Le Raclette Shop are Julie’s energy and the enthusiasm of a whole team of cheesemongers who love what they do.

Raclette wheels on the cheese shop counter
Since1934

Our story

How it all began.

Three cheese shops, a shared passion and something we noticed at the counter, winter after winter.

  1. 1934

    La Petite Vache, Saint-Josse

On Chaussée de Louvain, one of the oldest cheese shops in Brussels welcomes its first customers.

  2. 1980

    Le Plateau du Berger, Ixelles

A cheese shop opens in the Châtelain neighbourhood. It will become an institution.

  3. The turning point

    Julie changes course

After a first career in politics, Julie takes over Le Plateau du Berger and turns it into a showcase for her passion: beautiful, delicious, farmhouse produce.

  4. Then

    The family grows

La Petite Vache joins the adventure, then La Crémerie de Lasne in Walloon Brabant.

  5. At the counter

    The same thing every winter

Many people still buy their raclette at the supermarket, when for a similar price their cheesemonger has little raw-milk gems, sourced from Swiss and French producers.

  6. Getting ready

    L’Atelier des Fromagers and sourcing

We create L’Atelier des Fromagers, our label for restaurant professionals, and travel to Switzerland and Haute-Savoie to source our cheeses.

  7. Autumn 2023

    Le Raclette Shop

Julie and Fabrice launch a platform bringing together everything for the perfect raclette evening, to collect from a cheese shop or have delivered to your home or office.

  8. Today

A second Petite Vache in Uccle

Avenue Montjoie: a new collection point, and where our deliveries leave from for all 19 municipalities.
